This seminar series is geared toward practicing clinicians who want to study, analyze, and rethink/rework traditional psychoanalytic theory in relation to Asian American subjectivity. The class is oriented toward a rigorous and substantive engagement with the theoretical materials.
Participants will share clinical case histories, from which we will create a reading list to discuss collectively. We will work together to reframe our psychoanalytic readings in relation to the social and psychic lives of our Asian American patients.
While publication is not the ultimate goal of this seminar, we will discuss the process and politics of writing and publishing.
Each seminar will be combination of lecture and group discussion.
